January 28, 2008 10:46 PM The Army has lowered its standards (again) for allowable candidates. Pretty scary ... no wonder we can't "win" the war in Iraq. Fred Kaplan over at Slate says - and I completely agree - this is a big problem in at least four ways: 1) "It's not a good idea." 2) "High-school dropouts tend to drop out of the military, too." 3) "A dumber army is a weaker army." 4) "Today's Army needs particularly bright soldiers - and it needs, even more, to weed out particularly dim ones."
