If you want to make a musical featuring blues music, that's fine, go ahead and make one.  But don't masquerade it as some sort of action comedy.  It worked the first time around, but it's hard to fill the bucket when the well is empty.  The well was definitely empty when Landis and Aykroyd went to it this time.  And let's not even discuss the fact that they actually made a Blues Brothers movie ... without John Belushi.  Criminal.

And if Blues Brothers 2000 is really about the music, then why do the actors pretending to be musicians do more performing than the actual musicians in the film?  Seems like wasted talent to me.  I guess they figured all those car chases would distract us from noticing.

What's with that orphan kid?  Why is he in this movie again?

crocoCat says:   "Yawn.  Time for a cat nap."
