It starts in the right direction with Britney singing along to a Madonna song and dancing around her bedroom in her panties, wiggling her bottom to the beat.  Because as we all know, females (especially teenage girls) have a penchant for prancing around nearly nude in their bedrooms.  Especially when their girlfriends are around, which (inevitably) leads to a bra-less pillow fight.  This opening scene had me expecting Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to burst in at any second in their panties to submit Britney to the dreaded tickle torture!  Alas, that event does not transpire.  And much to my chagrin that is the last time in Crossroads that we see Britney half-naked.  It's all downhill from there.

I had low expectations for a movie starring Britney Spears.  Yet for some of the time it's decent enough to watch.  Then disaster strikes.  There's a scene near the end where a character falls down a set of stairs, conveniently creating an "out" for that character and the issue she was nursing throughout the film.  Instead of dealing with that issue in a manner that might help young girls who are in a similar situation, the film-makers just threw it down the stairs.  I find that extremely irresponsible of the film-makers.  They had a captive audience of teenage girls; they wrote the storyline; then they bailed out without even attempting to address the issue in a realistic manner.  The whole movie fell down the stairs with that actress.

Britney's real-life little sister plays the younger version of Britney's character.

crocoCat says:   "More of Britney in her underwear, please."
