How many times can you say "Death's design" in one film before it becomes tiresome? Answer: twice. Yet, Final Destination 2 exceeds that number and makes me lose all interest in Death's design, the design of Death, and any other combination of the words.
All the references and tie-ins to the previous film are totally unnecessary. This follow up would have worked better in my opinion without the tie-in. The idea that each character in this movie is somehow connected to the deaths of the first movie is dumb and meaningless. But, I suppose that is Death's design and we can only swim in his lake.
The worst sin of this movie is that there is no attempt to explain the main conceit of the story: that this girl has visions of death and is able to then avoid the deaths. Basically, this movie is everything I expected it to be. "Gruesome" deaths that are more funny than scary, and stupid characters doing stupid things inside a stupid story. Stupid-head!

My favorite death involves an elevator. Second favorite involves a wire fence.
