Risky Business clearly influenced the creators of The Girl Next Door.  It's almost the same movie, except not as intelligent nor iconic, and with an angle more towards sex and comedy (by the way, sex does not equal sexy.  Risky Business features less sex, yet way sexier.).  Even the soundtrack similarities are noticeable.  At times, it comes off as a desperate emulation of that earlier, superior film.  Going in, I expected very little from this movie, but wanted to see it because it prominently features porn and porn stars.

About Elisha Cuthbert.  I'll make it plain.  I think she sucks ass on 24.  In interviews she comes across as less than smart.  Generally, I'm not a fan of anything about her except her looks.  Which is why this role is perfect for her.  All she has to do is look pretty and show some attitude.  Not a lot of dialog to fumble, and she's not expected to carry any serious baggage in the movie.  She did a good job.

Alonzo Bodden from Last Comic Standing makes a cameo.  And I wasn't sure, but I could swear I spied David Daskal from Average Joe 2 sitting in the background in the classroom.  My interest piqued, I did some research, and found that Daskal is an actor (read his resume) and yes, that was indeed him in that scene.  Which makes me question the credibility of Average Joe 2.  They cast an actor to play the resident super-geek.  Now I understand why he didn't act the way a regular guy who likes like him acts.  He was playing a part.
