To me, Man on the Moon is a warm-hearted, Jimmy Stewart type of film, and I really like it. Jim Carrey does an amazing job capturing the spirit of Andy Kaufman, I really enjoy his performance. If you're familiar with Kaufman's life story, you pretty much know what to expect here, but the film is directed and acted in a way that refuses to shy away from the unfunny, prank-pulling Kaufman. The Kaufman that audiences loathed is on display at times, and it makes for an interesting biopic that doesn't just present us with his successes, but shows us the world the way Kaufman viewed it, not trying to explain it, just to show it. Often when it appears that Kaufman is flailing, in his own mind he is a huge success.

An amazing number of cameos from actors who play themselves.
