Meet the Parents is funny. As it should be, since it's a comedy and all. But it's one of those rare comedies where virtually every joke works. They may not all be laugh-out-loud funny, but there are none that make your eyes roll either. And the best part is that it's not chocked full of fart jokes, the comedy is smart and subtle, it doesn't try to hit you in the face with gags.
Stiller is perfect as the good-hearted hero, De Niro is perfect as the always suspicious prospective father-in-law, and Wilson is perfect as the smarmy ex-boyfriend. The rest of the cast is good too ... dare I say that this is a comedy with quality acting? It's something like a modern-day screwball comedy with De Niro as the ultimate straight man.

I like that the best laughs of the film come near the end. Of course, I'm referring to the airport sequence where Focker just loses it.

"I like the ashes scene the best."
