Good lord, do I hate The Mummy Returns.  It (along with Armageddon) represents everything that's wrong with today's greedy studios and film-makers.  Studio makes money on fun, entertaining movie.  Greenlights a sequel that will be "Bigger and better".  Throws lots of money at everything except a coherent script.  Fills the screen with annoying cgi effects because there is nothing else to hold the viewers attention.  Releases sequel to the public accompanied by much hype and heavy advertising.  Movie-going public buys tickets.  Studio makes money on sequel.  Greenlights a spin-off movie.  And the cycle continues.  Where are the story lines with meaning?  Where are the action sequences that have real consequence?  I'm sick of watching this kind of trite bullshit.  It's too bad that the first Mummy was so entertaining, because it just makes this one look all the worse.  There is a difference between good entertainment and bad.  Those people that blow off The Mummy Returns as a popcorn movie don't have discriminating tastes.  There is such a thing as a bad attempt at making throw-away popcorn movies, and this is it.  However, they made money off of it so who cares, right?  If so many people paid to see it, it must be good, right?  Wrong!  You know and I know ... this movie sucks.

The man-scorpion hybrid cgi effect monstrosity that looks like it needed another month of work.

crocoCat says:   "Ummmm ... who wrote this?  Why would they want me to watch it?"
