Requiem for a Dream. A very good film (although I don't understand the significance of the title, but that's okay, he could have titled it "Mr. Hat Goes to Florida" for all I care). It's a depiction of addiction; how addiction takes over your life and won't let go. It's sad and amazing how frail a human being can be when his enemy is himself.
The story and script are great, but this movie is all about the acting. Because if the actors can't sell us on their addiction, then the film carries no weight. No need to worry about that, though. The four main characters are played perfectly.
I like Aronofsky's style. You don't have to know anything about movies to know that you're watching a film made by a true talent. The quick-cut montages of drug use are terrific, and shots like the one where Sara cleans her apartment in fast motion are fantastic.

The only use of the color red is in Sara's dress and hair.
