There are only a few movies that are acceptable for making men cry. This is one of them. Rudy is all heart. It's one of the best football movies ever, but it's not really about football. The genius of this film is that the football doesn't matter. It doesn't matter who wins or loses. It doesn't matter who is racking up big statistics. All that matters is Rudy's journey. You can't help but root for a character as determined as Rudy. And that it's all based on a true story makes it that much more enjoyable, because you can imagine the "real" Rudy doing the things that the "movie" Rudy does, and you feel proud of him.
