Considering the source material, they made the best movie they possibly could. It's just that the source material isn't rich enough to carry a full-length live-action film. It's not that Scooby Doo is a bad movie; it's fine. But there's only so much you can do with the formula layed out by the television cartoon series.
Surprisingly, of the five main characters it was Gellar as Daphne who I enjoyed the most. The other characters are one-note (Velma is smart, Fred is vain) and Shaggy and Scooby do their normal Shaggy and Scooby routine. But Daphne has some additional elements written in to her character that I really like (she has a chip on her shoulder, for one).
The CG Scooby blends in well enough with the live action, that it's not distracting at all, mostly that's because there is so much other general goofiness that a computer generated talking dog doesn't seem out of place. I watched Scooby Doo in a theatre full of kids who seemed to enjoy it, but to my dismay, the fat black woman sitting behind me enjoyed it more then anyone else; she laughed too loud and talked too much.

Turns out Velma has a nice rack (as I always suspected).
crocoCat says:
"I've had scooby snacks before. They taste like crap."
