Shallow Hal is not your typical Farrelly brothers movie.  It's more of a warm-hearted romantic comedy.  However, the message gets muddled a little bit as the movie seems to bombard us with fat jokes throughout.  Some of which are funny, others not so funny.  Either way, this movie says that ugly and/or fat people are funny.  Just as funny as thin, good-looking people.

It's a strange thing about Farrelly movies, there's rarely a character that you dislike.  Everybody is just so likeable it makes me want to hug all of my fellow man.  Well, okay, you get my meaning.  Jack Black and Gwyneth Paltrow are very likeable actors, so they fit right in to this little universe.

In the end, Shallow Hal is a good way to kill a couple hours and have a few yuks.

Anthony Robbins is quite good as himself.  He's pretty entertaining.
