Chris Moore, Jeff Balis, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon bring you the first winner of the Project Greenlight contest. If you saw the HBO series that chronicled the making of Stolen Summer, then you know that the series was bound to be much more entertaining than the movie. The movie looked like a disaster based on the show.
Good news is, it's not as bad as all that. It's not that great either, but I've seen worse movies from much bigger names (Striptease, anyone?). The story is interesting, it has nice concepts to work with, the implementation is a bit weak, though. And the acting of the two child leads is plain bad. The other actors in the picture do a fine job, however, holding together the film by the rookie writer/director.

On the DVD, they show Pete Jones' top 10 finalist director's entry, it's a scene from the movie he directed with different actors and what appears to be a betamax camcorder. This scene is bad, really bad. I'm shocked that he won the Project Greenlight contest after seeing it.
crocoCat says:
"Wake me from my nap when this TV movie of the week is over. Then we can watch Fargo again."
