If this movie had come out in 1993, it might have been a huge hit.  As it is, it can't really compete with the latest CG animated features like Shrek.  It's not the story or the characters, nor is it the animation really.  I mean, this is very good animation.  But it's not state of the art, and that's what audiences look for these days.

I like Treasure Planet, it's fun.  Many of the story elements are familiar, but hey, this is a kids movie, right?  Give it a try, you'll like it too.

I saw this in an IMAX theatre, I'd reccomend that.
