I'll resist (well, I'll feebly attempt to resist) the urge to turn fanboy and start nit-picking the authenticity of this X-Men movie versus the comics.  Instead, lets talk about Wolverine.  Before the film was released, Wolverine was the most important thing to get right.  If they could sell Wolverine, then the movie would work.  If Wolverine showed up acting all sensitive or some shit, the movie would fail.  Wolverine is (arguably?) the most popular x-man, and he's also my personal favorite.  So, frankly, I went in to see this looking for only two things: Wolverine and Sabretooth.

In my opinion, they got Wolverine just about exactly right.  Jackman fucking NAILED it.  He had the right attitude, the right look ... what a relief!  Sabretooth has been a favorite villain of mine, so I was very interested to see how he would turn out too.  I was very pleased when he showed up to battle Wolvie in the snow ... that's classic stuff right out of the comics.  This movie is a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing some sequels.  I do have to say just one other thing, though.  There is absolutely NO WAY IN HELL that Mystique holds her own in a fight with Wolverine!

Stan Lee's cameo.  Other x-men, Colossus, Jubilee, Kitty Pryde, Iceman, make brief appearances.  Ray Park as Toad is fun to watch.

crocoCat says:   "Now those are costumes!  No stupid green ponchos anywhere to be found!"
